I recently reworked this illustration from my work on the book "Night" by Elie Wiesel, in which he tells his account of his incarceration at the Auschwitz concentration camp.

At one time, Wiesel recounts one of his worst experiences, when he and the other detainees are made to watch the hanging of a young Jewish boy, who is accused of having partaken in the sabotage of a power generator. The experience was deeply troubling for Wiesel and shook his belief in God to the core.
